Our Board of Trustees
PNCS's School Board is the Executive Committee of the Pittsburgh New Church Society. It is comprised of 9 members, and is chaired by the pastor of the society. Members are often school parents and PNCS alumni, and they take an active interest in making the school be all it can be.
The board members include 6 members-at-large, elected to three-year terms by the members of the Pittsburgh New Church Society. Currently serving are:
- Jonathan Glenn
- Judy Griffiths
- Bob Glenn
- Steve David
- Rad Sellner
- Barry Smith
The board also includes two officers of the society, our Treasurer, Ned Uber, and our Secretary, James Uber, and our Pastor, Pearse Frazier.
A word about the Pittsburgh New Church Society… This church group is a longtime congregation of the General Church of the New Jerusalem (The New Church, for short), a worldwide Christian church based on the theological works of Emanuel Swedenborg.
The Pittsburgh New Church's history is closely intertwined with the history of the city - with the Pitcairn, Phipps, Carnegie, McCandless, Schoenberger and Childs families all having New Church roots and influences.
Today, the Pittsburgh New Church Society has, as a key part of its mission, the provision of a holistic, balanced, civil, moral and spiritual education to children, to support their potential for living useful lives.
The Society subsidizes PNCS quite generously, enabling us to offer an excellent education for an affordable price.
