10/01/26 – We are very happy to welcome Beth (Mrs. Yednak) back to school! She has been on maternity leave since school began, but now she’ll be back! She plans to visit on Friday the 2nd to see what’s been happening in all her classes, so that she can hit the ground running on Monday the 5th.
The flip side of this return is that my workload is going down. I’ll only be teaching art classes on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from now on. I’m looking forward to doing more art and traveling, but my heart will always be with you all!
9/24/26 – The fourth grade science class has just completed a wonderful unit on trees. We explored the structure of trees, and tree life cycles. We went out and collected leaves from trees in the immediate neighborhood, identifying them with the help of a terrific book, and laminating leaves to create student-made books. Our final project was learning about photosynthesis, so that we could make posters showing the chemical process right down to the molecules of carbon dioxide and water breaking apart and recombining to create new molecules of sugar and oxygen! They did an awesome job, and had fun with learning!
The Famous Artist of the Month for September is Edgar Degas, who drew charcoal and chalk pastel pictures of ballet dancers. The school is decorated with pictures of dancers, and other people in action poses. Come in sometime and see!
8/26/26 – Hello from Honolulu! I’m on vacation, enjoying Hawai’i, but I’ll be back just in time for the first day of school. For the month of September, I’ll be filling in for Mrs. Yednak. Best wishes for a happy new school year. I’ll see you all soon!
Mrs. Julie Uber
