Hi! I’m not a homeroom teacher this year but am, still, heavily involved in teaching the grades 4 and 5 for language arts and social studies and science. In addition, I will teach health for a few weeks to the grades 4 and 5 and also to the grades 1 through 3 during the specials time in the afternoon.
To begin the year, we are going to learn about bookmaking and make our own journals. Then, we are going to use those journals in social studies and science but also in language arts. I hope to get the kids out into the world every couple of weeks for journaling in the park. I also intend to have a unit on Lewis and Clark where we learn what it was like for them by exploring Frick Park. That all depends on getting some help! It takes two adults to take students off campus. Please contact me if you are interested in using volunteer hours to accompany my class on our adventures!
