Saturday, April 13, 2019 – Pittsburgh New Church School sponsored the William Van Cleave workshop, “Writing Matters”. The workshop taught participants a structured, sequential approach to teaching the basic and expanded paragraph, including idea generation, categorization, and writing topic, supporting, and concluding sentences as well as transitions.

About this Event:Jamie Lynch and Kate Mayer from Everyone Reads T/E will share their story with parents who are interested in collaborating with their schools to change the way reading is taught to all students. A beginning level 1 dyslexia training co-sponsored by the Learning Disabilities Association of America and PNCS, which includes four classes, will begin on Saturday, March 9. The series will be held at PNCS from 8am to 12:30pm for three Saturdays: March 9, March 23, and April 6. The final class will be Sunday, April 29 from 2 to 6pm. This year’s annual end of the year play was The Wizard of Oz, directed by Ms. Sellner and performed on Friday, May 17, 2019. The children did a fabulous job!
